i he(art) seattle

It was packed. I met cool, smart people. It was warm & sunny, then rainy & cold. I learned a bunch about prototyping. I will prototype more. I’m excited about playing with Microsoft Expression Studio and Flash Catalyst. I developed a long design / geeky book list. There is cool art in Austin. I was impressed visually and audibly. I’d recommend a visit to the “oasis” in Texas. But apparently, the summers are unbearably hot!

This bookstore, Bailey Coy Books, on Broadway across from Urban Outfitters, really gets me. I always have to stop and and usually have to buy. Not to mention they are open late!

What I love to see is the windows, they feature monthly reading material… this month we have Women’s Lit and St.Paddy’s Day reading.

Also the bookkeepers are soo knowledgeable, they have shelves and shelves of recommended reading by each employee. And they have clever displays in the store. I love to see creativity exercised in common form.

They also carry moleskins (YES I bought one, well, two)

They have a select of paper, cool artsy greeting cards, wonderful wall posters, and a huge art book section.

And yes, I bought an artbook, A Graphic Diary of the Campaign Trail by Michael Crowley and Dan Goldman… had to have it!
