Eye Candy: Hostel Art Collective & City Hostel Seattle

Our first Seattle mural hostel, the City Hostel is alive and well! They had an awesome opening, that I sadly could not attend, on August 14th @ the Belltown Art Walk. I hear it was madness! Luckily the wonderful Bedlam Coffee took some yummy photos of the rooms for us to enjoy!

So you want more?!? You can find videos of the rooms being creatively mastered by the 47 AMAZING Seattle Artists and more juicy goodness on the Hostel Art Collective blog site. Find out more about the City Hostel like rates, reservations, and how to get your hands on some of this amazing original art too! I can’t wait to go pick out my room for my next in-city vacation!

99%: “Honey, can you make something for that big wall”

This time lapse video is so inspiring to me from soo many angles! From “The Creative inner-mind of Taras Lesko”, Taras creates this paper art craft that is a 60”x90” piece, consisting of 28 sheets of foam board, 110 strips of poster board, nearly 200 push pins, 2 cans of spray paint, 2 cans of spray glue, 1 can of tacky glue and 4 days of patience. I love that Taras did this in response to his wife’s challenge, as he puts it, and he response to the challenge, “Sure I can!”. Love it!

This really inspires my total compliance with the 99% movement, (spawned from the think tank of Behance), where they focus on promoting artist’s movement into what happens after inspiration — researching the forces that truly push ideas to fruition. Designed to help you transform ideas from vision to reality.

What Inspires Me: Cairo

I heart Cairo! It’s one building up from the corner of summit and mercer on the Hill. Like their site describes it’s ‘an ever-evolving arts space open to all kinds of circumstance’. I’ve seen everything from art exhibitions, book release parties, to performances. I also hear they have their our own collection of unique Cairo apparel.

About a week ago… it looked like this…
