art opening: digital surrender

Check out some shots from, digital surrender, an art opening presented by zoosjuice.com featuring works by: D.K. de Jesus and Carina Wayman. It was a mixed media show, featuring DJ Drunk and works ranging from beautiful, huge altered digital photography to cigarette tombs… and I saw a very cool tattoo.

Enjoy!

Ghost Gallery – ACTION! A Visual Feast of Video & Light Installations

A few weeks ago I checked ACTION! Ghost Gallery on Capitol Hill (504 East Denny Way). It was pretty rad. My favorite piece was, Angry Fruit Salad, by Joseph Gray & Keith Tilford which was a combo of foam core, adhesive, acrylic paint, gesso, spackle, fasteners, digital projector, computer cables & custom software written in Processing.

Pratt Fine Art Center Auction 2010

This past Saturday was the Pratt Fine Arts Center’s 28th Annual Fine Art Auction and I, along with hundreds of other generous artist from the Pratt family, made a donation of a piece of work. There were over 300 works of arts at the auction and it was a wonderful event! There were 3 silent auctions and a live auction along with dinner. I can happily say my piece was bid on multiple times and the winner kept an eye on the piece until the close of the bid to make sure he took it home! YAY :)

This was my first time donation a piece, and even thought it was hard to see it go… I was happy to donate to Pratt and happy to see it so well received and going to a happy home! Makes me want to run back in the studio and make more art!

inspirato 10: ByDesign 2010 NWFF

ok, i’m sure excited for this years ByDesign Event at the Northwest Film Forum. This is my favorite event in Seattle and I’ve been attending since 2007, but I missed last year. I love motion designers and titling sequence – if I weren’t a graphic designer, I’d be a motion designer. I love stop-motion, classic film titles from Saul Bass, tv intros like Six Feet Under, old Comedy Central and MTV intros, fresh work from the local shop Digital Kitchen

So this year’s line-up is amazing! Check out some of the reels and work of some of the featured screens and panels this year:

what inspires me: nimmy, saustra & tallie designs

Logo & Brand treatment

I worked on this logo and brand treatment for Nimmy, Saustra & Tallie Designs in exchange for a wonderful one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry! Ms.DaNelle “Nikki” Jenkins makes jewelry that is know for it’s uniqueness. Speaking of which, the unique name of her jewelry design studio came to her in a dream. Nimmy is an Indian word for smiling eyes and from the dirt (creation) and happiness. Saustra reminds her of sister and sisterhood and dance. And Tallie is like little one or tag-along and stands for her more playful, childlike side.

Her jewelry is very organic and flowing as is she, a Women’s Health Administrator by day and mixed media jewlry artist, Bali dancer, and model by… whenever she has time. Nikki’s work is very unique and inspiring! Check out her esty site for more of her wares :)
