Full Moon Collage: Being Supportive.

Super Moon - March 2011

This full moon was called the Super Moon! It was very bright and quite high and luminous in the sky. It was also supposed to have been the closest it’s been to Earth in ever. It’s interesting how the world is changing right before our eyes. Not only is our earth trembling with natural disasters but we are having economic strife all over the globe. People are starting to ponder on what really matters.

For me yoga, mediation, art making, and the most important my connections and relationships with my closest friends, family, and even acquitances. I have been meeting and developing friendships with so many new wonderful people (yes, that means YOU!)… and deepening my relationships with close friends and family. I love sharing my experiences with others in teaching, leading by example, and by being supportive. I want to be a better listener, more patient, and able to live within the moment. This requires stillness and faith on my part and also courage to reach out and at times be vulnerable. My board this month is simple, I wish to focus on being strong and supportive in the relationships in my life. To be a good listening ear and a brave friend to speak wisdom and encouragement into others.

Being Supportive.

The Full Snow Moon

IMG 3233 The Full Snow Moon

My first full moon dreamboard celebration was great fun! I had a few friends over we enjoyed blossom tea and shortbread and spoke a bit about our dreams for right now… then we got busy. For February 2011, I’m focused on aligning my dreams and visions for a more creative life matched with abundance and money! Thanks to Jamie at Jamie Ridler Studios for the idea of monthly full moon dreamboards! Yum!

Inspiration Desk

Recently I purchased my first dining room table – ever actually – it’s a beautiful deep chocolate very Danish, very Ikea and long and a perfect rectangle with 4 chairs. I bought it for two reasons, one: I wanted more dinner parties, two: I wanted another desk, just for my affirmation cards, pictures, and collage supplies. I love to see it messy with inspiration and with nothing digital… other than my laptop and camera… I have markers, scissors, cut paper, magazines, and my fuzzy fraggle rock pen.

Here are some pics of this magical new addition to my lovely home… and the inspiration it holds!

2011 Vision Board Party!

Card in vase by Christine Mason Miller'

A few weeks ago, right at the start of the new year 2011, a few friends and I decided to have a little planning / collage / vision board get together. And of course, I opened up my home to such an event. It was a potluck so everyone brought a yummy dish, chocolate, and some wine and between dining, music, and sharing new year aspirations & desires (no resolutions in this bunch) we created our board. Starting by cutting pictures then sizing them up to our boards letting our instincts be our guides.

That’s why I love collage, once you intuitively form your visual vocabulary, you start to magically sprinkle the canvas or cardboard or wood panel with words & images. And the finished piece is always such a reward. So here’s my 2011 Vision Board. My words are: Fearless! Focused and Faithful

Quick Collage Cards (AEDM: Day 18)

Feeling day 18 (actually for me day 2) of the Art Every Day Month (AEDM) Challenge, I created these two quick collages around affirmations, questions, and mantras I believe in and constantly ask of myself. What do you ask yourself?
