Full Moon Collage: Being Supportive.

Super Moon - March 2011

This full moon was called the Super Moon! It was very bright and quite high and luminous in the sky. It was also supposed to have been the closest it’s been to Earth in ever. It’s interesting how the world is changing right before our eyes. Not only is our earth trembling with natural disasters but we are having economic strife all over the globe. People are starting to ponder on what really matters.

For me yoga, mediation, art making, and the most important my connections and relationships with my closest friends, family, and even acquitances. I have been meeting and developing friendships with so many new wonderful people (yes, that means YOU!)… and deepening my relationships with close friends and family. I love sharing my experiences with others in teaching, leading by example, and by being supportive. I want to be a better listener, more patient, and able to live within the moment. This requires stillness and faith on my part and also courage to reach out and at times be vulnerable. My board this month is simple, I wish to focus on being strong and supportive in the relationships in my life. To be a good listening ear and a brave friend to speak wisdom and encouragement into others.

Being Supportive.

Thanks to Jamie at Jamie Ridler Studios for the idea of monthly full moon dreamboards!

Framing art work: Reflections #2 and Le Afro

In 2011 I am framing my art work… ALL OF IT! It’s fun. I love framing… the perfect edges, alignment, tools, attend to detail and then you get to hang it, anywhere you please and people see it and people love it. It’s pretty awesome. I’m framing and hanging Reflections #2 and Le Afro – they are both paper lithography prints created in 2008 at Pratt Fine Arts Center‘s printmaking studio. Reflections #2 is complete and currently hanging beautifully in my living room. Le Afro is framed as well but I’m considering sending it to my mother for her birthday June 11, since the piece was based on a photograph of her with an actual bright red afro in the early 70s. (Mom, if you’re reading this, ignore that last sentence.)

Wishcasting Wednesday: What do you wish for your home?

Jamie over at Jamie Ridler Studios has posted the question up for wishcasting: What do I wish for my home? My main desire has been for my home to be welcoming… to me coming home from work and to friends over for dinner and collaging. And I really feel I have achieved that, my space has been my oasis filled with artwork, warmth, life and inspiration. I am opening up my home and space to a display more of my art work and creativity, to be a space where I am creating artwork, to be a confident pleasing zone of inspiration and motivation to my creation of more pieces of work. The positive energy of life, love, beauty and creation are what I wish for in my home.

The Full Snow Moon

My first full moon dreamboard celebration was great fun! I had a few friends over we enjoyed blossom tea and shortbread and spoke a bit about our dreams for right now… then we got busy. For February 2011, I’m focused on aligning my dreams and visions for a more creative life matched with abundance and money! Thanks to Jamie at Jamie Ridler Studios for the idea of monthly full moon dreamboards! Yum!

art opening: digital surrender

Check out some shots from, digital surrender, an art opening presented by zoosjuice.com featuring works by: D.K. de Jesus and Carina Wayman. It was a mixed media show, featuring DJ Drunk and works ranging from beautiful, huge altered digital photography to cigarette tombs… and I saw a very cool tattoo.

Enjoy!
