Today on my way home from work, I was 3 lovely balloons escaping into the sky. I just watched them float on and was briefly brought back to my childhood. In probably 2nd or 1st grade, we wrote notes and folded paper something kind, something special and we all lined up everyone in my school and released these balloons into the air. It was really awesome and I remember our teacher encouraging us to speculate on who far they would get, or what little child on the other side of the world would reach them. It was like pen pals only way more abstract like releasing your hope, to send love and envisioning it received as love. So beautiful! Made me think of this song by Jason Mraz.
